UPDATE: Report: Gas transit via Baumgarten hub fully restored

MOSCOW, Dec 13 (PRIME) -- Gas transit via Austria’s Baumgarten hub has been fully restored, Director of operator Gas Connect Austria Harald Stindl told radio ORF on Wednesday.

“I can announce that yesterday by the midnight we managed to restore all transit lines, they are all 100% operative,” Stindl said, adding that Gas Connect officials think that the reason of the explosion was a technical failure during installation of new equipment.

An explosion halted operations at the hub on Tuesday, 21 people were injured, one died.

Gazprom Export said in a statement that it has fully restored the supplies. “Gazprom Export is fully satisfying the orders of clients receiving gas via Austrian hub Baumgarten. This has become possible due to prompt and coordinated work of our Austrian partners for as soon as possible natural gas transit resumption after the accident.”
